Beth’Tilas is a spider boss located in Firelands
There is a large web ceiling where raiders can move up to by clicking the threads
The raid is split in 2 groups: one group below and one group above the web
Kill Beth’Tilac and all spawning adds before she kills the raid
Beth’Tilac is a soft-enrage fight : You have to kill her before her damage becomes unhealable
What is new
Version 1.02: Better assignments on ground, small errors are cleaned out
Raid composition
In 10-man normal difficulty: 2 tanks, 3 healers and 5 DPS;
In 25-man normal difficulty: 2/3 tanks, 6/7 healers, 15-17 DPS

The raid moves in and pulls Beth’Tilac
![]()
Move as one cluster and be ready to heal everyone up fast!
Beth’Tilac retreats up to the safety of her web on the ceiling
Spiders will spawn in the middle on threads. Taunt and Kill the spiders The threads will stay.
Free up 2 threads Have one tank and one healer move up simultaneously ASAP.
If Beth’Tilac is not engaged she will cast Venom Rain which does massive damage
So one group needs to move up the web to engage Beth’Tilac to stop Venom Rain
The rest of the raid stays on the ground and deals with the adds

Assign one (elite) team to move up the threads. This consists of:
10man: 1 tank, 1 healer and 2 Melee DPS
25man: One tank, 2 healers and 5/6 Melee DPS
Use the threads to climb up the web . Only one person can climb each string
Beth’Tilac will use the following abilities when she is tanked on top of the web:
Meteor Burn
Beth’Tilac casts Meteor Burn . Make sure to Move out of the impact zone.
Ember Flare
Beth’Tilac casts Ember Flare which does AoE damage
Smoldering Devastation
Beth’Tilac has an energy meter (called Fire Energy)
Whenever this is at 0 energy, she will cast Smoldering Devastation
You will need to jump down the hole in the middle of the web to dodge this
Assist on killing any big spiders when you are on the ground
Make sure to move back up after Smoldering Devastation is gone.

The group below the web do the following:
Positioning
The group on the ground is positioned in the south-west like this
To clarify: This is the exact spot in the South-west corner
The raid moves here because the South-west corner is the only corner where small spiders do not spawn
The groups deals with the following adds like this:
Cinderweb Spinner
These spider hang on thread. They always spawn in the middle
A tank can taunt these spiders down to the ground
Let 1 ranged DPS (10man) or 2/3 ranged DPS (25man) kill these spinners
Spinners cast Burning Acid which does mediocre damage
Spinner cast Fiery Web Spin which “cocoons” players, DPS cocoons down
Cinderweb Drones
These are big spiders that need to be tanked in the south-west corner
Do not stand in front of the adds (they use an acid cone)
If these spiders run out of energy they will move up the ceiling
Drones siphon energy, decreasing the time before the next smoldering devastation
So kill the big spiders before they run out of energy
Cinderweb Spiderlings
Beth’Tilac occasionly summons small adds that spawn in the 3 other corners
If these small adds reach the other spiders or the boss, they will get Consumed and heal them
Assign 3 ranged DPS (25man) to each corner. Use raid markers like this
The small spiders are high killing priority and need to be AOE’ed + slowed down fast

Beth’Tilac moves down after 3 Smoldering Devastations
You need to have Beth Tilac down to about 70-75% now
Any % higher means your DPS is too low (move more people up the web)
Make sure that all big spiders are killed when she moves down
Positioning
The raid is positioned in a triangle like this when Beth’Tilac is on the ground
Beth’Tilac uses the following abilities in this phase
Frenzy
She gains a stacking buff called Frenzy which does more damage over time
Ember Flare
Beth’Tilac casts Ember Flare which does AoE damage
Ember Flare + Frenzy becomes unhealable after a while which is a soft enrage timer
Widow’s Kiss
She also cast The Widow’s Kiss on a tank. This is a stacking debuff
The debuff reduces healing and gives the tank an aura that damages nearby allies (stacks up)
In order to deal with this do the following:
Tank Rotation
The maintank tanks Beth’Tilac
At some point (randomly) she casts The Widow’s Kiss on the maintank
The offtank taunts and takes over, the maintank wait for the debuff to run off
The offtank tanks Beth’Tilac for 20 seconds
The maintank takes over, etc.
Why 20 seconds? Is the exact time for the debuff to run out
Continue the same routine and kill Beth’Tilac

This is incorrect. The drones do not heal Beth’ Tilac
^
The drones siphon the Beth’Tilac’s energy, decreasing the time before the next smoldering devastation.
the video doesnt follow this guide :/ when she comes down you say she should be around 70%, but in the vid she is no where close to that. you also didnt say that she casts a aoe type ability in ground phase
Thanks for the feedback
Version 1.01a
- Fixed error: Drones do not heal Beth’tilac but drain energy
- All bilities of phase 2 are now properly included
- Wowhead tooltips for all relevant abilities.
- Tanks can taunt spinners. now properly included
- All abilities of spinners are now more detailed
About the video: I removed the video since my strategy was not the same as shown on the video (thanks wigwam for feedback). The strategy given on 25man.com is based on a lot of different resources, video’s and experiences. I will upload a new video when I find something that closely resembles the strategy given here.
In p2 if the raid is in a triangle, couldn’t the tanks just swap and not change positions? As in if they move don’t they run the risk of clipping someone with the damage from the debuff vs. standing still and taunting back when the debuff falls off?
Correct Beeradin. This has been updated in the Strategy Guide.
Version 1.02: Updated Positioning in ground phase + removed small errors
Several of the skill links point to Wowhead’s PTR site, which is down now, so the links are dead. Just remove the ‘ptr’ part of the links and they’ll pop up again.
Cheers for the guide!
